Constructionism 2014

The theme for this conference is Constructionism and Creativity.

What is more central to the constructionism than creativity? We believe that modeling encourages and aids learners to personally create knowledge and meaning. We think, however, that we have not spent enough time focusing on creativity within the constructionist context. Please help us make Constructionism 2014 the place where we do this.

We know that there are many conferences that look at the complex effects of the digital objects that surround us. Constructionists, however, are dedicated to looking specifically at the effects of digital tools on learning and creativity. Not just in mathematics and science education but across disciplines. This is our remit: this is, we believe, the constructionist project.

Of course, we are interested in the development of digital tools and languages, too. The recent upsurge of interest in programming gives us an opportunity to talk about our current computational environments, their outcomes and our plans for the future developments.

We hope you will chose to spend some time with us next summer in extraordinary Vienna.
